Difficulty and Camera

Ved: Recure is a skill-action roguelite, not a stats-check idle. That does not mean you owe the default camera a migraine. SummerClip spent two public demo windows answering camera and difficulty feedback. This page is the settings half of getting started and combat. Hardware floors stay on system requirements.

The full game is still listed for 21 Sep 2026. These options shipped in demo clients (especially the 6 June–10 July 2026 Next Fest build). Expect them — or replacements — in the paid client. If a setting vanishes at launch, this page will move.

Difficulty options (June 2026)

The Next Fest notes added difficulty options after players said Chapter 1 felt like a brick. SummerClip did not publish the exact label list in the English news post. Practical use:

  • If you cannot read Amplifier’s arm because the camera is busy, fix camera first, then difficulty. A lower difficulty with a spinning follow cam is still a spinning follow cam.
  • If sockets are filled and you still cannot finish a 8-room crawl, drop difficulty. That is a supported option, not a cheat. The game is single-player.
  • If you are practicing Boss Rush leaderboards, stay on the setting you want to learn. Rush has Restart after 8 June 2026; use it instead of force-closing the process.
  • Do not treat “I lowered difficulty” as a reason to empty Defence. Empty Defence is still empty.

There is no public frame-data sheet that maps each difficulty to enemy HP. Anyone posting one before launch is guessing.

Camera, in the order you should try it

  1. V-Sync (28 April 2026). Turn it on if you tear.
  2. Camera shake → 0 (28 April 2026). Minimum is zero on purpose. Orange Amplifier slashes plus default shake is the sick-making combo.
  3. Controller vibration → 0 if that also bothers you. Same patch.
  4. Improved camera near walls (28 April 2026), with more work promised. If you still clip, continue.
  5. Fixed camera mode plus extra camera sliders (June Next Fest). This is the setting melee players were asking for.
  6. Safeguard against camera lockups (8 June 2026). If the cam freezes, you are on a build that at least tries to recover.

Chillo and Fei need this list more than Plumy, because they stand in the particle storm. Plumy’s lane still benefits from shake 0 on the CD-launcher night fight.

Audio settings that were also broken, then fixed

Not camera, still “the game felt wrong”:

  • Monster spawn and phase-transition sounds now follow the audio slider (28 April 2026).
  • Cutscene volume follows the slider (30 April 2026).
  • Cutscene-exit progression no longer eats your Chapter 1 flag if you quit mid-scene (30 April 2026). Relevant to Fei unlock and story.

A silent phase change on a pre-28-April client is not a spec failure.

How this interacts with the chain

Difficulty does not rewrite socket rules. Negate / Hurt triggers were retuned in June independently of difficulty. If a Hurt card stopped firing after you copied a May chain, that is a buff-chain patch, not a difficulty patch. Rebuild the row on the build planner.

Lowering difficulty also does not add cooperative play, gacha, or a second player. Steam categories remain single-player, full controller, achievements, cloud, leaderboards.

A short pre-Amplifier checklist

  1. V-Sync on.
  2. Shake 0, vibration 0 if needed.
  3. Try fixed camera for ten seconds in a trash room, not in the boss door.
  4. Confirm Defence and Hurt have something.
  5. If Chapter 1 is still a wall, drop difficulty one step and keep the same chain.
  6. After a clear, take the same settings into Boss Rush and use Restart.

When the 21 Sep 2026 build ships, re-open this page. Camera bugs were already a Windows problem in demo; Steam Deck compatibility is still unknown. If you are on a handheld, start with the requirements notes (800p, 40–60 fps cap, shake 0) and then come back here.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Which setting should I change first if I feel sick?

Camera shake to 0, then fixed camera, then V-Sync. Difficulty is third, not first.

Does lower difficulty disable achievements?

SummerClip has not posted an achievement-by-difficulty matrix. Steam lists achievements as a feature. Check in-client at launch.

Why did my Hurt chain break after I changed difficulty?

Probably the June Negate/Hurt retune, not the difficulty slider. See patch notes and buff chains.
