How to Unlock Fei in Ved: Recure

Fei (風禾) is the green-haired melee fighter on the Ved: Recure demo list and the only How-to-get question the current client really asks. Playtest notes from February 2026 said that after you complete all demo levels, a new playable character unlocks and Boss Rush opens. The September voice-cast graphic names that character Fei, voiced by Chinatsu Asahi (朝日千夏). Older posts spelled her Feh. This wiki uses Fei.

If you have not finished Chapter 1, stop here and follow the demo walkthrough or the getting started guide. The unlock is a completion flag, not a hidden NPC hunt.

Requirements

• A Ved: Recure demo client during an open window (April and June 2026 were the public ones).
• A clear of the demo’s Chapter 1 story route — the same route that contains four bosses, including Amplifier.
• Patience for a single-player credit / return-to-menu. There is no cooperative skip and no friend to boost you.

The February playtest phrasing was “after completing all levels in the demo.” The later public demo described “3 playable characters (1 unlockable after clearing the demo).” Both point at the same flag. If your file came from the April client, June notes said save data carries over, so you should not have to re-clear unless the unlock did not write.

Step-by-step

1. Start a file as Plumy or Chillo. Fei is greyed out / missing until the flag flips.
2. Play Chapter 1 without treating Boss Rush as a substitute. Rush is a mode, not the story clear.
3. Beat the four story bosses. Amplifier is the named grass-field mecha; the CD-launcher mecha is another large body; two more are unlabeled on Steam. Use the boss guide if you stall.
4. Watch the Chapter 1 ending sequence. If the client crashes in a cutscene, install the 30 April 2026 patch notes (progression after unexpected exits during cutscenes was fixed).
5. Return to character select. Fei should be selectable beside Plumy and Chillo.
6. Optionally open Boss Rush. The same completion flag is what the playtest used to unlock Rush.

If she is still locked after a boss-rush-only evening, you did not clear the story. Go back to Chapter 1.

What Fei looks like in a fight

Steam’s canyon screenshot shows a green-haired fighter in a white jacket, black pants, and sneakers, cutting a flying enemy with huge blue energy ribbons. HP 2117/2117 with a +276 bonus, Stage 2/8, damage number 47 in the air. That is the opposite of Plumy’s gun portrait: Fei wants to be on top of the target.

Practical socket plan once she is yours:

• Dash ATK is not optional. The canyon fight is a gap-close.
• Combo Finisher should be a spend you can see — blue slashes already cover a lot of screen.
• Hurt is more likely to pop because you are in melee. Fill it.
• Frost freeze (Land of Snow) pairs with a rushdown character if you can land five basics during a stagger. Fire martyr wants kills; Fei’s job is to create those kills.

Do not copy a Plumy gun chain onto her and then decide she is weak. The character tier list ranks Fei as a reward fighter: stronger once you understand sockets, worse as a first character because you cannot even pick her.

Why SummerClip gates her

Gating the third fighter behind a Chapter 1 clear does two things. It keeps the first hour to two action modules (gun vs slash). It gives the demo a completion carrot besides “wishlist the 21 Sep 2026 build.” The playtest also used the same gate to open Boss Rush, which is the mode speedrunners actually want.

If you only care about Rush, you still have to earn Fei the slow way. There is no published code, no Roblox-style redeem, and no paid skip. Ved: Recure is a buy-to-play Steam game; the demo is a slice, not a gacha banner.

After she is unlocked

Run her through one Chapter 1 reclear to feel the module, then take her into Boss Rush with free buff picks. Compare notes against Chillo (also melee) rather than against Plumy. Read combat for camera settings — Fei’s canyon clip is visually busy; fixed camera and shake at 0 help.

Voice lines will be Japanese in the full game. Chinatsu Asahi’s credit is confirmed. English subtitles follow the Steam language table. For the rest of the cast, use the voice-cast page and the characters hub.

When the paid client ships on 21 Sep 2026, Fei will almost certainly be in the base seven rather than a demo exclusive. This page will then become a “how she played in the demo” archive instead of an unlock ticket. Until that date, the ticket is: finish Chapter 1.
