Ved: Recure Demo Walkthrough
What 25 percent of the game actually contains.
SummerClip has been using timed Steam demos to stress-test Ved: Recure in public. The pitch is consistent: about 25 percent of the finished game, centered on Chapter 1. This walkthrough records what those clients contained, how the windows were scheduled, and how you should spend a short festival session so you are not still in the tutorial when the timer ends.
The full game remains scheduled for 21 Sep 2026. A demo window is not a stealth launch. If you only have an evening, follow the route below, then park remaining questions in the getting started guide and the boss guide.
Demo windows so far
- 25 April – 10 May 2026. First public demo, shown around Indie Live Expo and the Steam East Asian Games Festival. After 10 May the build went offline for polish and was promised back for Next Fest.
- 6 June – 10 July 2026. Steam Next Fest return. SummerClip said this revision was mostly polish, not a content dump. Save data from the previous demo carried over.
- 8 June 2026 patch. Restart option in Boss Rush, extra camera safeguard.
When a future window opens, assume carry-over still works unless a Steam news post says otherwise. Check the patch notes the day you install.
What is inside the 25 percent
SummerClip’s own checklist:
- Chapter 1 of the story — the overtime commute, the 1000th game, and the first Recure facility spaces.
- Three playable characters, one of them unlockable after you clear the demo route. Screenshots label the list Plumy, Fei, Chillo. Fei is the unlock; details live on the Fei page.
- Four boss battles in the story route, plus extra Boss Rush targets.
- 35 buffs to socket during a run.
- A slice of equipment and meta progression (not the full 50-piece catalog).
- Boss Rush, aimed at speedrunners, with a Steam leaderboard that needed a fetch/retry fix on 28 April 2026.
June extras that were not in the April marketing list: two Boss Rush enemies named Rockwheel and Whirlord, difficulty options, fixed camera mode plus more camera sliders, and retuned Negate / Hurt trigger conditions.
Suggested Chapter 1 route
- Settings first. V-Sync on, camera shake to taste, fixed camera if walls clip the follow cam. See combat for why this is not optional.
- Starter pick. Plumy if you want a gun and spacing. Chillo if you want the Amplifier screenshot fight — she is the white-haired slasher standing in the grass when the mecha named Amplifier winds up. Do not wait around hoping Fei is selectable; she is not, yet.
- Learn the room counter. The HUD marks Stage 2/8 or 4/8. You are crawling a short dungeon, not an open city. Clear, draft, deploy, repeat.
- Draft with a theme. The three-card screen can show Sacrificial Explosion Sequence, Dance! Dance! Dance!, and Land of Snow in a single offer. Pick a school (Fire, Frost, Lightning) for the first four rooms. Refresh costs 300; Give Up pays 150. Details in buff chains.
- Fill Defence and Hurt before the first named boss. Empty defensive sockets are how Amplifier’s wide slashes feel unfair.
- Clear Chapter 1 once even if the build is ugly. The unlock and Boss Rush are the demo’s real endgame, not a perfect first chain.
- Boss Rush with Restart. The 8 June patch added Restart so a botched opener is not a full quit. Use it. Leaderboards exist; treat them as optional.
Exploration rooms are not all arenas. One Steam shot shows Chillo in an overgrown lot with crossed steel beams, hanging laundry, a parking sign, and a civilian standing off to the side while debris hangs in the air. Walk the space, talk if the game lets you, then fight. The Recure facility is a collage of leftover real-world junk and combat stages — that is the point of the story, not a bug.
Boss Rush, Rockwheel, and Whirlord
Boss Rush is a consecutive gauntlet with free buff selection so you can theory-craft chains without Chapter 1’s draft luck. June added Rockwheel and Whirlord as extra Rush targets. They are named; kit details were not published in the news post. Learn their tells in Rush rather than on your only story save.
If the leaderboard fails to load, retry — that interaction was patched on 28 April 2026. Monster spawn and phase-transition sounds were also bound to the audio slider in that patch, so a silent phase change is no longer expected.
How this demo maps onto the full game
The finished pitch is seven characters, nine attribute schools, 150+ buffs, four large stages, 16 bosses, and 50+ equipment pieces with hidden traits. The demo is one chapter, three of seven fighters, four of sixteen bosses, and 35 of 150+ buffs. Anything you master here (socket discipline, camera, dodge into Dash ATK) transfers. Anything you invent about Kiki or Frostelle does not. Keep the character roster and tier list marked as early.
When the 21 Sep 2026 build ships, this walkthrough will remain useful as a Chapter 1 recap. Until then, pair it with the release date page so you do not confuse a festival client with the paid game.
Frequently Asked Questions

Does demo progress carry into the full game?
SummerClip confirmed carry-over between demo clients. Full-game import has not been promised in the news posts we tracked. Keep screenshots of unlocks.
How do I unlock the third demo character?
Clear the demo's Chapter 1 route. The third name on the list is Fei. Step-by-step notes are on the Fei unlock page.

Will the demo stay online until 21 Sep 2026?
Past windows closed on a published end date. Treat every demo as time-boxed and check Steam news via the updates hub.
