Ved: Recure Story and Chapter 1

The overtime commute, the facility, and the Chapter 1 clear that unlocks Fei.

Story and Chapter 1

Ved: Recure’s pitch is a story you already half-know if you have a Steam backlog. On the 27th consecutive night of overtime you go home, add one more game to the library — the 1000th — and fall asleep in the chair. You wake inside a Recure facility. Clearing the game is the way back to reality. This page is the narrative half of the demo walkthrough. Combat verbs stay on combat. Boss names stay on the boss guide.

The campaign is still scheduled for 21 Sep 2026. Chapter 1 is about a quarter of that campaign. We will not spoil scenes that only exist in the paid client, because those scenes are not public.

What “Recure” is selling

Japanese marketing calls the space a 療愈 facility — a treatment clinic that is also a combat stage. Steam stills mix leftover city junk (laundry, parking signs, crossed beams) with mecha arenas and desert canyons. That collage is the point of the premise: you are trapped in a product, not touring a single biome.

You are not one of the seven playable fighters. You are the adult who bought the game. Chillo, Plumy, Kiki, Daria, Fei, Frostelle, and Zane are the people (and personalities) inside the facility. Chapter 1 of the demo introduces the space and two of those modules, then gates Fei behind a clear. The rest of the roster is named and voiced; kits wait for launch. Roster facts live on the characters hub.

Localized titles you will see on storefronts: Ved: Recure (English), Ved:リキュア (Japanese), Ved:療愈所 (Traditional Chinese). This wiki stays on the English store name in running text.

Chapter 1 as a route, not a novella

The demo’s story content is Chapter 1. Practical beats, without quoting cutscene dialogue:

  1. Settings first. V-Sync, fixed camera, shake at 0. The 30 April 2026 patch also fixed cutscene-exit progression — if you Alt+F4 a scene, reclear once on a patched client.
  2. Pick Plumy or Chillo. Fei is locked. Pages: Plumy, Chillo.
  3. Crawl rooms marked Stage n/8. Draft three cards. Deploy onto sockets. Details in buff chains.
  4. Exploration lots are not empty. The laundry-yard still shows a civilian off to the side and debris in the air. Walk the space; talk if the client lets you; then fight.
  5. Four story bosses, including Amplifier on the grass field and the unnamed CD-launcher mecha at night. Two more are unlabeled on Steam. Notes: bosses.
  6. Finish the Chapter 1 ending sequence. Return to character select. Fei should unlock. Boss Rush should open.

That is the How-to-complete path the demo actually asks for. There is no cooperative skip, no gacha banner, no Roblox redeem. Single-player Steam only.

How much story the demo is allowed to tell

SummerClip’s public demo is ~25 percent: Chapter 1, three fighters, four bosses, 35 buffs, partial gear and meta, Boss Rush. The full pitch is four large stages and sixteen bosses. Do not expect the canyon (Fei’s blue-slash still) and the laundry lot (Chillo’s exploration still) to be the entire world. They are Recure collage, not the map.

If a creator titles a video “full story explained,” they are guessing past Chapter 1. Use official links for studio posts. The 2 September 2026 news was voice acting and a September launch confirmation, not a lore dump.

Tone, rating, and what not to expect

Steam ratings snapshot includes 12+ in several territories (CADPA and others). The cast is an anime action roster. Japanese VO for every character is a launch feature, not something to assume in the April/June demo clients. English remains UI + subtitles unless a later post says otherwise. See the voice-cast page.

This is not a dating sim, not a gacha, not a live-service code game. Equipment hidden traits (equipment guide) and buff chains are the systems the story is wrapped around. If you came here for plot and Amplifier is blocking you, go back to getting started and fill Defence.

When the 21 Sep 2026 client ships, this page should add the remaining three stages as they are named. Until Steam flips coming_soon, treat every “ending explained” thumbnail as a demo recap.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers to the most common questions.

Do I need to understand the story to beat Chapter 1?

No. You need sockets and camera settings. The story is the wrapper. Mechanical help: getting started.

Is the Recure facility the whole game?

It is the setting. The full pitch is four themed stages. Chapter 1 is one slice. Map names past that are not public.

Will demo story progress carry into the full game?

Demo-to-demo saves carried in June. Full-game import has not been promised. Keep screenshots of unlocks.
